dc.description Sunflower Oil Refining has been recognized worldwide as the crucial source of good non cholesterol cooking oil as well as the supportive engine of world economy. Both developed and developing nations depending much on Sunflower refineries as they help much in provision of employment, quality non cholesterol oil and food for animals. Countries such as Russia, Ukraine and Argentina are doing well economic wise due to high production of sunflower and sunflower refining. In Africa the Republic of South Africa is doing the best in sunflower oil refining SMEs due to capital availability, presence of high technology and strong market while many other African nations facing difficulties as they miss support factors which South Africa possess. In East there are many sunflower oil refining SMEs. Few of these oil refineries performing well, a good living example is Kampala Sunflower Oil Refinery in Uganda. Refineries facing many challenges including managerial skills, capital, high competition, technological problems, business reputation and business culture. Rwanda and Burundi refining are very low as the result they import sunflower oil refining from other nations. In Tanzania sunflower refineries are very important to national economy as they make employment, they pay tax and they influence creativity and innovation. Challenges of refineries are such as lack of capital, lack of entrepreneurial skills, business image, competition, and irregular supply of power and very high cost of electricity. This report is organized into chapters having introduction, objectives, literature review, research methodologies, data analysis and data presentation. An in depth case study of Mkalama District in Singida region the area the researcher was examined The failure factors for edible oil processors : a case study of sunflower refining SMEs due to the reason that there are of sunflower oil refineries but they do not grow rather they remain as they are within many years of their operations.
