Appellant Msafiri Emmanuel, was on 6th July 2004 convicted by the
District Court of Mwanza, of the offence of armed robbery contrary to
sections 285 and 286 of the Penal Code, Cap 16. Of the six accused
persons, only the appellant was convicted and sentenced to serve thirty
(30) years in prison. The law as expressed by section 361 (1) (a), expected
the appellant to give a notice of his intention to appeal within ten days
ofs" July 2004 when he was convicted. |
