FWEDA MWANAJOMA lOHN DANIEL(App) Vs THE REPUBLIC(Res)The Appellants were charged with the offence of armed robbery contrary to Sections 285 and 286 of the Penal Code (Cap 16 - RE 2002). After the close of the prosecution case and for some reasons which are not clear from the record, the trial court proceeded to write a judgment and convicted the Appellants and their colleagues in absentia under section 227 of the Criminal Procedure Act. They were all sentenced to 30 years imprisonment on 27/2/2001.
