Motivation can be taken back even before industrial revolution, There so many philosophers such as Frederick Taylor in the age of scientific Management in 1890’s, only monetary rewards were considered to be important to employees. The employer needs to understand what motivates employees within the context of the roles they perform. Motivation seems to be one of the most important tools of Human Resource Management as far as Performance is concerned, because any organizations design motivation systems to encourage employees to perform in the most effective way but also to attract potential candidates. The main objective of motivation is to encourage and influence people to apply their efforts and abilities in ways that will further the achievement of the organization goals as well as satisfying their own needs. Specifically, the research aimed at examining the factors that motivates employee to perform well at CMC Automobiles, the extent to which the organization problems can be solved by motivated employees and examine motivational challenges in MCM organization. This study employed a case study research design which focuses on a single area and allows variety of data collection method to be deployed. The study was conducted at CMC Automobile which is the dealer of Automobiles products from Ford and Land Rover in Tanzania. The study involved 50 respondents whereby data were randomly taken from them, questionnaire being the major data collection instrument. The collected data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) and presented through tables, graphs, histogram and pie charts. According to the study findings, it was noted from 42.0% respondents who were the majority that the fate of motivation in CMC was low, while technical skills of individuals was the major base for one to be motivated. Improving salaries was said to be among the important methods used to motivate employees. However, in CMC organization training was claimed to have not been effected, whereby many problems were noted to happen as a result of poor motivating employee like poorly performed works. Following the study findings it was concluded that, motivation was a big problem in CMC Automobile, while the recommendations were given to managers to ensure motivation to the employees as no one would work comfortably if not motivation.
