This study presents the Effectiveness of Micro-Finance in Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment in Tanzania particularly at CRDB Bank PLC in Dar es Salaam Region. Specifically, the study were assessing the formal and the informal sources of finance of women entrepreneurs, determine the level of satisfaction of the women entrepreneurs with regards to the micro-finance services, analyze the level of impact of the micro-finance services on the lives of the women entrepreneurs, find out whether micro finance plays a vital role in women entrepreneurs, examine if there is high default rate in loan advancing to women entrepreneurs borrowers especially at CRDB Bank PLC, find out how commercial banks can facilitate microfinance sector in rural areas and find out if the government contribute to improving micro-finance services to women entrepreneurs in rural areas.
The study covered by taking sample of 60 respondents. Purposive and simple random sampling techniques were used to get a sample of (60) respondents. The study used case study design in which both qualitative and quantitative approaches of data were adopted. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews and documentary reviews. Qualitative data were focused on content analysis whereas quantitative data were gathered and, frequency tables and figures using Microsoft Excel.
The result of this study indicates that Micro-credit is providing access to women entrepreneurs’ financial services especially CRDB Bank. Within the catchment areas of CRDB Bank branches opened in areas that had previously no access to micro-credit.
Therefore, the study recommended that, CRDB Bank PLC programmes should be accessible to women entrepreneurs and offer adequate policies regarding to market interchange, access to financial services, training and technical assistance.
