This study examined Challenges Encountered by Non-Government Organizations towards Promoting Women’s Health within Kinondoni Municipality, Dar es Salaam region with specific focus on Sikika Non-Government Organization. The objective of this research was to assess Challenges Encountered by Non-Government Organization towards Promoting Women Health In Kinondoni Municipality. The study sought to identify challenges and provided suggestions to overcome them so as to ensure their safety and improve health sector.
Primary data for the research were collected from Kinondoni Municipality. The respondents NGO staff, Local Government Officials, Tumaini hospitals staff and Mwananyamala hospital staff and Kinondoni women. Findings from the study revealed that the women’s health sector in KM was facing with different kinds of challenges although the strategies were in place to encounter the challenges and improve women’s health including health sector in general. Despite the fact that Tanzania National Health Policy was introduced since 1990 and re-introduced in 2003 and 2007 and different strategies to promote health sector in the country. But women health is still a challenge in Tanzania and specifically in KM
