These studies assess the level of public debt management in Tanzanian. The specific
objectives of the research are (i) To examine the effects of the political issues on
public debt management (ii) To determine how the taxes revenue service the debt
(iii) To determine the significance of the legal framework for public borrowing in
Tanzania (iv)To determine the effect of public debt on investment. The related selected questions are (i) Is there any political interference on decisions of contracting loan? (ii) Has Treasury ever suspended reinvestment of all or part of the government security fund because of political interference? (iii) Are the revenue generated from taxes enough to service public debt? (vi) Does the legal and regulatory framework give clarity of the authority of borrow and issue new debt? The study will select a randomly of 45 respondents who are government employees on public debt management section at the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Tanzania.The primary data will be obtained from responded questionnaires circulated while secondary data will be obtained from the review of various documents related to public debt management. |
