dc.description This study aimed at assessing teacher’s perception on motivation for effective performance in public schools in Tanzania. It is argued that there are the problems of motivating teacher. It is widely argued that the status of teachers in Tanzania has declined appreciably during recent decades. Lower standards of teaching, feminization, and dramatic declines in declines in the standard of living of teachers. The foundation of this study was therefore based on the main objective which was to assess teacher’s perception on motivation for effective performance in public schools in Tanzania and procedures of accessing them and solicit constraints and challenges that limit teacher job performance. The research reviewed various sources of information written and presented by different scholars about nature and effects of incentives it father explored nature of teacher perception on motivation in public school. Review of related literature such as in text books, journals, and internet sources have been done. The, researcher used systematic approach in data collection. Research has used a statistical research design and descriptive case study in public secondary schools. The approaches were used to obtain primary and secondary data. Total of 70 respondents were involved if were in the study Researcher presented analyses and discussed the finding of the study, it was observed that the there is a harmonious relationship exist in the school between teachers incentives and motivation. It is recommended that to improve the education performance in Tanzania the Government/Institution should be committed to make sure that should to design incentive schemes in order to attract and retain teachers and enhance their performance.
