The purpose of the study was to supplement the researchers’ knowledge on the field of pension, ageing and socio – economic justice on alleviating poverty to the future generation; in addition to that the study enabled the researcher as partial fulfillment of the award of master Degree in Public Administration offered by Mzumbe University. This study’s objective were mainly to assess how Parastatal pension funds improve the welfare of old age, asses the problems old age pensioners faces during the time of recipient and examining procedures or conditions that is required for old age pensioners to get their pensions. The study carried out in Kinondoni Municipal involving 10 officials from parastatal pension fund, 50 respondents from general population and 40 older people benefiting pensioners were by questionnaire, and interviews were mainly used in the collection of primary data.
The general findings indicates from older people receiving pension 27% agreed that the benefits are satisfying, 20% and 54% disagreed with the benefits being satisfying from either benefit they receive or the processes when receive them.
Government recommended the pension expanded to general older people community since it’s their right considering their contribution to national economic growth. For the pension fund available must strive to offer quality pension benefits to their beneficiaries.
