The study was about CVP analysis and profitability target in financial institutions, taking
CRDB bank plc located at Magomeni Dare s salaam as a case study. It was intended to
analyze the usage of CVP analysis in financial institutions.
The study population is made up of all staff (managers and other bank officers) within the
CRDB bank Magomeni branch. The case study design was used to reveal the necessary
and required data to answer the research questions. Questionnaires and interviews were
used to collect data from different respondents.
The findings revealed that CVP analysis is very useful in decision making, it helps
managers make better decisions and to plan the profit of the firm.
Thus, the study recommended that policy should be made in CRDB Bank to apply the
CVP analysis technique and managers in financial institutions CRDB bank they are
required to share with all staff on how to CVP analysis operates. This is simply because
the findings reveal that only members of the top management know-how CVP operate and
how it helps them attain the targeted profit. While other staff from others have an idea of
the CVP tool but they do not know how it operates. And also, further study should be
conducted on these assumptions of CVP analysis.
