The integrated financial information system in local government provides some positive effect like increases ability to government’s information of economic performance, cash position, and increase capability of controlling and checking of spending, receipts in government department, raise the possibility of accessing the information on financial and working performance.
Apart from goods things did though information financial system. There some cases of miss-management of resource in local government authorities are still a rampant. In another side of financial information in performance, this study aims to the effect of integrated financial management information system on local government in Tanzanian (IFMIS); a case study Korogwe Town Council (TC).
The respondents are staffs of Korogwe Town Council (TC): in different departments such as finance for both EPICOR (expenditure) and revenue, Economic, Business and information technology (IT), Procurement department. The data were obtained through research design under purposive of the study in descriptive research (you seek to answer of the question), the unit of analysis is sample and stratified random techniques. Data were gathered though questioner, interviews, observation, documentary review method, primary data and secondary data.
The system used to analyze data and processed were both qualitatively and quantitatively using SPSS. The finding of the study revealed factors affecting financial performance in local government that their problem of poor computerized financial management system and underutilization of integrated financial management system (EPICOR).
Finally, it comes out with various measures that can be taken in to account in order to strengthen financial performance in local government authorities. The measure includes building a good management system in processing, provision of education in the society on how to receive revenue and reduction of process of payment.
