The study was aimed to assess the method of revenue mobilization in Public Sector Organization. The main objective of the study was to assess the method of revenue mobilization in public sector organization. In order to achieve this objective of the study the researcher should observe the following; to assess the revenue collection process used by the Public Sector Organizations, to understand the techniques used by the accounting department in collecting revenue, to understand the sources of the revenue supposed to be collected by the Public Sector Organizations. The researcher used a type of descriptive research design in the methodology by using both primary and secondary data. A sample size of 20 respondents who comprises Finance department, Planning department, Credit control department, Procurement and Stock control department involved. Data were collected using questionnaires, interview and observation. SPSS computer software and Microsoft Excel analyzed data collected descriptively. The findings from respondents revealed that; on average staff are motivated enough in mobilizing revenue. The respondents believed that when the staff is motivated by the organization he/she would increase the organization revenue. 50.0% of respondents believed that staff are competent in the essence of mobilizing revenue to the organization and 40% of respondent’s response that the management provides the needed logistics to the staff for effective revenue mobilization. In the process of collecting revenue in public sectors, the researcher summarized as follows; GPSA give the 30days terms of the billed items by the institutions to pay the amount of money that are needed to be paid and provide the 5 days to tenderers institution, which are required to pay the amount of money within these days.
Based on the revealed findings, the study recommendation are; the Organization should set a good method or ways that enable the revenue mobilization in the PSO, Organization make sure that their staff are well trained and motivated enough in order to mobilize revenue also the researcher recommend that the Organization should sale their vii goods and services not only to governments institutions also can sell to other customers in order to mobilize revenue in PSO.
