dc.description The research report examines the patient’s data privacy and confidentiality in Tanzania to make improvements on Tanzania laws concern to the patient’s data privacy and confidentiality, The advancement of science and technology has brought changes in the country since most of the activities now are conducted online especially the storing of patient’s information, Patient’s information previous where stored physically in books, Electronic health service is very important since it improves the quality of healthcare and patient’s experience at reduced costs. Patient’s data is considered to be sensitive data because it involves intimate lifestyle, venereal or psychiatric diseases, and names. Patient’s data need to be protected against infringement because sometimes patients data may be used for commercial purpose without the consent of the patient, breaches of patient’s data may occur and it may lead to societal discrimination, pressures, and embarrassment. Patient’s data should be safe, collected, stored and once they required somewhere should be provided according to the laws. The research report employs library-based research whereby analysis is made by consultation of books, legislation, articles, and international conventions. It includes the consulting library to explore the available literature from research reports which are related to the patient’s data privacy and confidentiality. The research argues by reviewing on how presence law that governs patient data privacy and confidentiality in health service is sufficient to cover the right of data privacy for the patients, at what extent the right to privacy and confidentiality of patients is protected in Tanzania and last my reviewing on other jurisdiction on how they protect patient information Furthermore, the research, therefore, intends to ensure that patient’s data are protected as the human right by improving data privacy laws in Tanzania. The researcher, therefore, recommends enactment of comprehensive data protection law that complies with international human rights standards and establishes an independent data protection authority. The purpose is to ensure the improvement of laws concern the patient’s data privacy in Tanzania.
