This study was conducted in Wanging’ombe district on Assessment of household fertility. It aimed to Assessment of household fertility and poverty. According to my study Household fertility deals with a number of members in a Family or family size.
The study adopted a case study design, targeting the household fertility in wanging’ombe district. A sample of 90 respondents was drawn using simple random sampling techniques. Questionnaire and direct field observation were used to collect primary data while documentary review methods like use of books, journals, internet information and other scholar’s reports to get secondary data. Data collected were analyzed using STATA program and excel software and presented in tables, figures, and text. Also, data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistical techniques.
The findings reveal that household fertility in wanging’ombe district is higher compared to the level of living standard. Through that they observe that most of people are not aware on family planning methods. Due to some cultural believes and religion issues, that cause higher fertility rate and resulted to large family size. Also, education about family planning still provided but responds of people to wards the use of that methods are still lower. Indicate that people are delayed to follow some measures of family planning. Therefore (Lawson), to ensure that it need some effort to be applied specifically to all families in wanging’ombe like provision of social services, encouraging family planning in both sex (female and male). Through that it may lead to reduce number of family size that will held in balancing resources available with their expected number of people within their societies.
The study recommended that, family planning methods should be provided among the community. To encourage people to be aware on controlling poverty in wanging’ombe district, through balancing the house hold fertility lead to control number of family size from large to low number of family size. Then specific social services should be distributed to people in wanging’ombed istrict like improvement of health services centre.
