dc.description This research dealt with the Factors influencing Procurement Performance of Goods in public sector. The general objective of this study was assessment of the factors influencing procurement performance of goods in public sector. The study specific objectives were to determine the influence of procurement professionalism on procurement performance, to examine the effect of procurement methods on procurement performance, to identify the influence of resource allocation on procurement performance and to determine the influence of government policy on procurement performance. The study was conducted at Government Procurement and Service agency Iringa regional office. The researcher used a case study. The research designed employed was mixed of quantitative and qualitative research design, quantitative data was collected through questionnaire while for qualitative data researcher employed interview where, purposive sampling technique used to collect data, out of 50 population only 30 respondents were used as sample size, the study employ Institutional Theory and Principal- Agent Theory. The data was collected and analyzed by descriptive statistics: Then findings were presented in tables and interpreted through percentages and frequency. For this case researcher found that procurement professionalism, procurement methods, resource allocation and government policy having positive relationship on procurement performance. The researcher recommended that GPSA should maintain the level of training provided to employees regularly so that to improve officers’ skills for better procurement performance with review of budget which provided by headquarter office, Also, The PPRA should review the current checklist for monitoring and evaluating procurement performance in public sectors especially on rules and regulation which are important in public procurement.
