The use of e-Government among public entities in Africa needs strong and well planned initiatives. e-Government helps to foster provision of services in public entities on one hand and to lower costs in accessing the public services among citizens and other beneficiaries on the other hand.
However there are several factors that affects the application of e-Government in Tanzania, some of these factors includes insufficient fund among public entities to finance the application of different related e-Government projects, unreliable internet connections and poor ICT infrastructure facilities in most public entities.
The objectives of the study includes; to identify the role of e-Government in provision of the Institute services to the public, to identify the challenges that face the Institute in applying e-Government, to examine the benefits of e-Government to the Institute and assess the means that the Institute applies in addressing the challenges that affect the use of e-Government in providing its services.
The study included 60 respondents, 40 of them were TAWIRI employees and the rest were employees from NCAA, MNRT, TANAPA, TAWA and WCS.
In gathering data for the study several methods were applied including interview, questionnaire, observation and documentation review. The collected data were analyzed through Social Science Statistical Package (SPSS) version 20
