This research report examines the problem of delay of disposal of criminal trials before the courts of law in Tanzania Mainland. The spirit behind the undertaking of this research was that most people seem to know little on the laws regulating theproceedings. In investigating the root cause of this status quo this research mounted different objectives respectively to examine the causes for the delay of the criminal trial before the court of law, the extent to which the delay of criminal cases has reached, the effects of the delay of the disposal of criminal trials in the administration of justice. Lastly, this research derived recommendations from the findings some of which are; the use of ICT in court rooms, mass education to the citizens, improvement of working conditions to the judicial officers, Motivation to judicial officers to avoid corruption and other illegal practices.
