dc.description The study was on assessing the impact of work life balance on employee job satisfaction in the banking sector adopted the case study of TPB Bank Plc in Mbeya city. The study involved three objectives namely the factors of work life balance which influence employees’ job satisfaction at TPB Bank Plc, the relationship which exist between the work life balance and employee’s job satisfaction at TPB Bank Plc and the ways to restore the work life balance of employees at TPB Bank Plc. The study employed different theories which helped to explore more information as literatures that guided the study. The study used interview as the main tool of collecting data in the field of study where from 15 number of workers at TPB Bank Plc in Mbeya City were involved as the population of the stud and 12 were sample from that total number of populations visited by the researcher. The study found out that work life balance remains an issue that requires considerable attention from the public and private sector employers due to the changing nature of the global economy and increase in technology advancement and stiff competition in Tanzania due to increase in the number of banks operating in Tanzania. In this respect it was found that practically it was difficult to balance between work and personal life specifically in the Tanzanian banking industry. On the aspects of job satisfaction, it was found that job satisfaction was closely related to work life balance and when there was no balance of work and family the stress starts which could lead to job dissatisfaction. This study of work life balance and employee job satisfaction is crucial subject; as these concepts should be ongoing tackling issues needed to manage and improve the productivity of the Bank’s employees. The study found the aforementioned variables to have significant relationship with employee job satisfaction in the TPB Bank Plc. So, it is hereby recommended for the improvement for employee job satisfaction through work life balance in the TPB Bank Plc. To do so, management must recognize the employee’s productivity. Top managements should realize the effect of work life balance and should implement the work life programmes, practices and policies which will enable the employees to balance between work and non-work life balance to be included as part of human resource practices geared to contribute in the reduction of the employee job dissatisfaction.
