The study employed case study design, with a sample of 72 respondents. Purposive and simple random sampling techniques were used to draw the study sample. Interview, questionnaires and documentary review were used in collection of data. Data analysis was done through thematic analysis where by qualitative and quantitative data were analyzed with the aid of SPSS and Ms-Excel. The findings of the study revealed that, there are various motivational packages provided to police officers. These include achievement, recognition, promotion and advancement. Others are personal growth, uniform, residences, stationery, office and furniture, job security, benefits, opportunity, allowance, gratuity and physical surroundings. Despite the different motivational packages in place, majority of respondents strongly disagreed and were satisfied with motivational packages offered to police officers. The study further found that, majority of the respondents strongly disagreed as well agreed that working condition, salary/wages, benefits received, allowance received, gratuity, accommodation and physical surroundings, achievement from work, recognition, job promotion, personal growth, advancement and opportunity have influence on the performance of the police officers. The conclusion of this study shows that despite various motivational packages at the TPF, such packages are not accessible to some police officers. Even when they are provided, they are not adequate. This precipitates a persistence of challenges of motivational packages at the Tanzania Police Force. The study therefore recommends a need to allocate adequate budget for the police officers.
