The study was concerned with the Role of E-Procurement in Reducing of poor delivery of local government services at Ilala Municipal Council in Dar es salaam The main objective for the study was to assess the contribution of e-procurement in reducing poor delivery of local government services in Tanzania. Thus the main objective for the study was attained through the examining factors for e-procurement in enhancing transparency in local government authorities, to determine the contribution of e-procurement on the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery in local government authorities and to assess the integration of e-procurement in the procuring system of Local Government authorities were used as the main subject for the study.
This study used a qualitative research design under case study. The method of data collection involved questionnaires, interviews and documentary. The collected data was based on a key informants sampled with relevant information that met the study requirements. The study population was Local Government Authorities and the sample was Ilala Municipal. Where the sample size was the municipal staff members, suppliers and the beneficiaries.
The sampling techniques for study were random sampling and purposive sampling, which reflected the key informants and other respondents. Findings were reached through data collection methods were questionnaires, interview and documentary. In which data analysis was done through SPSS which stands for statistical Package for social studies.
The major findings revealed that there’s an Improved decision making in timely and consistency, reduced in administrative costs, improved of resources management in allocation and distribution, and reduced cycle time and delivery of services on time.
