The study explored employees’ Loyalty in Relation to Job Satisfaction in Public Sector in Tanzania: A Case Study of Selected Ministries in Tanzania. The study was guided with the following research objectives: to investigate the nature of relationship between employees’ loyalty and job satisfaction in a study of selected ministries in Tanzania, to show how psychological and physical factors influence job satisfaction to public servants in their areas of work as well as to explore how working environment influence job satisfaction to public servants in a study of selected ministries in Tanzania.
The study was conducted in Dodoma Urban where descriptive research design was employed. In due regard, purposive sampling technique was employed while interview and documentary review as data collection tools were used. However, thematic content analysis was used to analyses data since the study used qualitative method. The study has revealed that employee’s loyalty and job satisfaction in various ministries could be managed by both the employers and employees through playing their roles and performing their duties as the law requires them. A large number of respondents argued so while the remaining, fewer respondents said it is the employer’s duty to do so. The study has also found out that public servants use different ways to cope with the challenges of job satisfaction in their ministries. Many of them work hard to get promoted and being paid awesome salary while some wait for things to change and others continue to work without any expectation of things to change.
The study concludes that; many employees are not quitting their jobs to move to other places because they are/ were disloyal to their former employers. The study recommends that; employers should build trust to their employees by doing what is right for them to stay loyal since it is only possible if they make them feel comfortable to stay in their jobs by giving them all the rights as workers. The study further recommends that; employers should try to employ as many people as possible so to reduce the burden of workload to their employees.
