The application of records management practices provide valuable and influence in an organization to support decision making, both TIB and CRDB banks was seleted as a case study. The study focus to investigate the application of records management practice on administrative decision making in the Tanzania banking industry. The specific objective are; to identify how availability of information is helpful administrative decision making in banking industry, to identify how compliance influence administrative decision making in banking industry, to identify how retrieval and accessibility of records influence administrative decision making and to determine the extent of Systematically control of business transaction engaged to support administrative decision making. The research employed the records management theoretical. A mixed approach of both qualitative and quantitative method was used to collect required data. The research was used a sampled of 75 respondents at both TIB and CRDB bank out of 550 respondents from total population. In regard the sampling techniques was used then simple random and purposive techniques for data collection through conducted interview and questionnaires from the respondents. However the data was been analysed through the use of descriptive statistics. The study findings indicated that information valuable in an organization to support decision making, increases efficiency and effectiveness. However, the study was found that compliance reduces organizational risk and it enables less hesitance. The study findings also indicated that retrieval and accessibility are very significant to increase usability as the way retrieval and accessibility of records and to the large extent in the organizations sampled Systematically control of business transaction engaged to support administrative decision making and this is evidenced by the responses from the respondents. The study concludes that, effective organization records management practices enable easy access to records to advance accountability in decision making. The study recommends that, the management team in banks have a critical role in overseeing the business actions of their bank in records management practices. Thus, banks should act as role models for their followers to influence any decision made in the banks accountable.
