The main objective of this research was to examine the enforcement of local authority by-laws in promoting cleanness in urban areas. The researcher found out that, minority of the respondents had negative views regarding enforcement of local authority by-laws in promoting cleanness around the municipality. It was also found out not enough has been done to ensure that those laws are effectively enforced. Majority of individual are not aware of the enacted by-laws concerning cleanness. In addition, the group of majority was of the view that the local authority should enforce local authority by-laws in promoting cleanness.
The researcher recommends the following: establishment of awareness programs, the support of the central government as well as to increase effectiveness of local authorities. This can be done through constant inspections in different household and other facilities around Morogoro Municipality. |
