A Dissertation Submitted to Mzumbe University, Dar es Salaam Business School in
Partial Fulfillment of the Requirement for the Award of Degree of Masters of Science
in In Procurment and Supply Chain Management (PSCM).
The study examined the Supply Chains of Power Foods Industries Limited by
analyzing the company’s current Supply Chain system. Data collection methods
comprised of questionnaires, interview and documentation; purposeful sampling
technique and stratified random sampling were employed to select intended
respondents. In analyzing data, Microsoft Excel was used.
The results revealed that Power Foods Supply Chains need tremendously
improvement due to the fact that it lacks some of the key elements to make it run
effectively and efficiently. These elements include proper flow of raw materials,
information flow and financial flow as a result of not using appropriate mechanisms
in their supply chains.
It is recommended that Power Foods Industries Limited Management Team should
restructure their supply chains and adopt the latest mechanisms that are currently
used in the modern industry as proposed by the researcher in the recommendations
section in Chapter Six.
