dc.description |
Teaching is an important aspect on the development of the country. Tanzania now is
experiencing the downfall of the status of teaching profession which ultimately is
affecting the process of molding the students’ behaviour who are key agents of
development in immediate and future prospects of Tanzania. In response to the current
situation there is a need of taking into consideration the kind of the teachers who should
be responsible for shaping students’ behaviour. At this dilemma, the study thought to
identify the impact and characteristics of the Tanzanian teachers’ professional calling
upon interaction with their students. The outset of the study progressed from the
background to the study where this gives the overview of the study. Chapter two is
developed into two parts which are mainly theoretical literature and empirical literature
where these helped to identify the gap in the literature and the relationship of the
literature to the study.
The survey research design was used with the response of quantitative research so as to
be adaptable to statistical data analysis and the study was conducted in Kigoma Rural
Council where research distributed questionnaires to both students and teachers to solicit
the required information, 96 students and 46 teachers returned the questionnaires out of
150 that were distributed to them. The questionnaires were piloted in order to test their
validity and reliability. Data was managed and analysed using Statistical Package for
Social Sciences version 20 (SPSS) with the help of software
Results indicate that teaching is not an easy task in such a way everyone can be a
teacher, it needs a person who heartily feels the problem of the students and find the
possible measure on how to deal with them without being driven away by the workload
or teaching environment. The research also recommended for further study to be
conducted using other research instruments rather than questionnaires |
