The main objective of this study was to investigate the impact of the quality of facilities on the educational environment in primary and secondary schools located in Ilemela ward, Ilemela district. Methodologically, the study used mixed methods design in which both qualitative and quantitative data were collected. Data collected from the field were subjected to statistical test using ―Statistical Package of the Social Sciences/Computer Parkage (SPSS/PC)‖ where percentages, means, standard deviations and tables/pie charts were carried out. To achieve the goal of education as related to the quality of facilities on the educational environment in primary and secondary schools located in Ilemela ward, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, in co-operation with the government, should consolidate the renovation, expanding and building new educational facilities and proper handling of teachers to avoid turnover in order to ensure smooth running of the schools. Quality educational facilities in the current modernized world are not an option but a must because evidence of educational purpose for preparing students is presented in the educational objectives of Tanzania. The participants for the study consisted of teachers and school heads in six primary schools and two secondary schools. The questionnaires were collected from 115 teachers/head teachers and head masters. The researcher discovered that relevant buildings should be renovated and new ones which are modern elected. Besides, the teachers should be cared and provided with conducive environment for effective provision of education in public secondary schools. The researcher discovered that good facilities in school contribute to smooth running of school on each headmaster, create commitment to the teaching profession and insures unlimited success in the viii nation. According to the findings, such environment is not fully provided by public primary/secondary schools in order to cope with the world of competition. Since private secondary schools are succeeding, the government secondary schools could do the same and changes all over the country are most likely. However, the facilities are inadequate. Besides, the school heads are incapable to change the existing situation. As such, the government needs to screen and evaluate its policies and implement the best ones to bring changes. The work of drilling students, managing and leading the school as well as mental development, should be given first priority in every school through a motivated staff. Besides, lack of modern facilities to some extent is contributing to the poor performance of students.
