This research report studied the Factors which Lead to the Effective Teaching Practice to the
Trainee teachers from Universities and Colleges. Therefore the objective of this study was to
examine factors which lead to the effective teaching practice to the Trainee teachers from
Universities and Colleges. This shows that teaching practice was moderate successful in
secondary in which was carried. The mechanisms put in place to ensure that teaching practice is
successful from both the universities and secondary schools were to improve teaching and
learning facilities, good conduct in micro teaching and provision of accommodation. The
challenges facing trainee teachers during teaching practice were poor facilities and in adequate
teaching and learning materials, conflict between teachers and administration and large number
of students in classroom. The recommendations where to provide enough fund to trainee
teachers, put more emphasis on micro teaching, peer teaching and single lesson, ensuring the
availability of enough teaching and learning materials, self confidence and emotion composure
and put more emphasis on code of conduct.
The study was guided by the Reflective practice theory and the Classical management theory
which insists on closer supervision in micro-teaching and being competent in teaching practice.
The study was use mixed method approach. This study employed triangulation design. Data for
this study were collected by using questionnaire and unstructured interview. The researcher
recorded data by using flied notes and analyze them in qualitative and quantitative approach.
This study was governed with regard to the research code of ethics in order to obtain liable
information from respondents in the field.
