The study aimed at investigating impacts of nationalization policy in education to Tanzanian
people in 1967 up to 1980s, a case of Meru and Ausha districts in Arusha region, this study
explore people’s perceptions on the reasons for nationalizations in education, benefit for
Tanzanians after nationalizations of schools, challenges of nationalizations in education systems
and ways to improve education institution which nationalized by the government.
This study employed multiple data collection methods in collecting data;interviews, focus group
discussion (FGD) and documentary review were used. Total numbers of 48 respondents were
involved including 5 Religious leaders, 5 retired teachers, 4 Retired village leaders, 25Elders, 07
village leaders and 2 education officers. Data was analyzed through tables, quotation and
narration of key informants from the study.
The study explore that people understand reasons for nationalizations policy in education, and
how Tanzanians benefit with this policy specifically in the field of education, also people was
understand challenges of nationalizations and the ways to improve education institutions which
nationalized by the government. |
