dc.description Tanzania's rapid expansion in domestic credit since the late 1960s has resulted in an increasing growth in money supply. This was given particular significance in the structural adjustment programme adopted in 1982 and the three-year economic recovery programme of 1986, commonly referred to as ERP-I, which was extended to ERP-II, also referred to as economic and social action programme.
