dc.description This study aimed at assessing the effectiveness of employee selection in Political Organization A case of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) with the view of developing strategies to improve it, and in turn to increase the productivity in the organization and political organization in general. The target population for this study was employees and management of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in the headquarter in Dodoma, who represents the entire research population. From this population a sample has been drawn and its results used to generalize the relevance of the selection of employees to human resource requirements. The sample of this study comprises of one hundred and ten (110) respondents from Chama Cha Mapinduzi staffs. The sample size includes ten (10) respondents from the management staffs which include heads of department, head of section and member of central committee (CC), fifty (50) respondents from middle management. Then fifty (50) respondents are low carder employees, Persona Secretaries (PS), cleaners, guards and drivers. The chosen sample size was manageable in terms of funds and time set aside for the study. The study made the following recommendations; Political organization should build a culture of setting sufficient budget to support employee select process, the government and political institutions should set strategies to combat corruption in the selection process in their different units. It is recommended that organization should impose strategies to combat nepotism in the employees’ selection process in their organizations.
