dc.description Dissertation (MA International Relations)
dc.description The objective of the study is to assess the impact of lack of motivational incentives on delivery of immigration services in Tanzania with Zanzibar as a case study. The study specifically intends to identify and assess the relevance of allowances given to immigration officers, to assess the magnitude of accommodation given to immigration officers and to examine the extent of transportation incentives provided to immigration officers for sustainable delivery of immigration services. The research was conducted by using both qualitative and qualitative methods that used to generate data that was analyzed and interpreted in the study. Also questionnaires and interviews were designed and used to collect the required data. The result shows that, due to allowances given to immigration officers, there has been reluctance for immigration officers to deliver effective services. It is recommended that, in order to enhance the employees‟ performance in service delivery at the Immigration Department of Zanzibar and Tanzania as a whole, the Government should focus on motivational allowances like good salary, pay allowances for job satisfaction and employees‟ performance for good service delivery.
