dc.description The study analyzed Effectiveness of Administrative Decentralization to Local Government Authorities in Tanzania, using Bukoba Municipality as a study area. Therefore, the focus of this study is to establish whether the idea of Administrative Decentralization is a better option for government to take in its endeavors to improve social services and to promote social welfare of all citizens. A sample of 56 respondents was used and these were haphazardly obtained from Bukoba Municipality. Data collection employed interviews, questionnaire and documentary review. The statistical package for social science (SPSS) was used for management of data and analysis. In this study the theories pertaining to Local Government was established to familiarize the reader with paradigms. The study reveals that Local Government Authorities are still faced with a number of challenges including non-commitment in behalf of the personnel among of which some are completely corrupt and profoundly bewitched by ego centrism whereby human values are knowingly unknown to them: Besides, narrow sources of revenues inability to retain highly skilled personnel, gaps in terms of numbers, qualifications and skills as the existing capacity building programmes does not adequately bout with the needs of these LGAs. The study recommends that in order to have strong and capable LGAs in place, The Central Government must fully take severe measures against all those who misuse national resources or commonwealth and cultivate the spirit of patriotism as well as exercising an exemplary legal punishment on them. Secondly, it is recommended that the personnel should appreciate that man has been created in order to serve his community and the later must be in the former but not the contrary. Accordingly, the guts of patriotism (dying and sacrificing for his/her people) must be augmented. The local and central governments are highly recommended to employ their social institutions such as family and religions in order to build and frame their individuals as early as possible so as to understand the meaning of life and shaping the individuals to become more and more human: Eventually, the study recommends that the Central Government should cooperate with these decentralized authorities and give them more necessary helps rescue them from this tragedy immediately and accordingly.
