This study generally assessed the impact of organizational communication on job performance in Tanzania. It examined the benefits accrued from the implementation of effective communication. Both stratified random and purposive sampling were used to select 100 representative samples from Arusha Municipaliy. The study employed both questionnaire and the interviewing methods of data collection. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS computer software. The findings from this study revealed that there was a communication gap between employees and the management. The findings showed that the communication gaps within TASAF had impact on job performance and therefore poor provision of services to the community they served. The study further indicated that there were a number of factors which affected job performance apart from communication. These included poor facilities, low salaries among the TASAF employees and poor community support. From the basis of this study some recommendations are made. These include the increasing job performance within TASAF, cooperative efforts should be made between the TASAF management, employees and the community. It is further recommended that, TASAF should also solve other problems that affect job performance. Salaries among the TASAF workers should be improved. Facilities and other infrastructures should be provided time is to facilitate a conducive environment for workers to perform their duties. |
