The research aimed at examines the challenges, of realizing the improved health service in public health centers. The following specific objectives guided data collection; to examine the status of health service delivery, to identify the challenges facing health service delivery, and then to assess the prospects towards improving health service delivery at a desired level.
Literature review in this study has shown that, there, are some nation w that have been able to deal with health challenges and creating a good approach of providing good health services. The literature shows that institutional and political nature is behind the success or failure in health service delivery.
A case study research design was used where in both qualitative and qantitave approaches were applied in data collection. Data collection were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The study used samples of 98 respondents.
It was found out generally that, in spite of efforts done by the government, still service were not satisfying to the majority. The study noted that, the challenged were institutional, policy and human resource oriented.
Hence it was recommended that, there was a need to apply participatory approach in dealing with community health services and also the need of restructuring institutions and policy formulation process in order to be responsive in nature.
