dc.description The study generally assesses benefits accruing to an organization for motivating employees, evaluates the relationship between motivation and productivity as well as identifying effective and efficient ways for motivating employees. The study has used Cross-sectional research design. A sample of 75 respondents was drawn from Mufindi District Council. The study used both probability and non-probability sampling procedures. Data analysis was based on descriptive statistics using Statistics Package for Social Science (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel to form frequencies and percentages of the findings. The study has found that there is a direct relationship between employees' motivation and organization performance since employees' motivation enhances employee's accountability, better service delivery to the clients, efficiency and effectiveness at the working place, and skills and expertise among the workers. Moreover employees' motivation reduces labor turn over, fosters creativity and innovation among employees, enhances good relationship among workers as well as full utilization of organization resources which in turn helps the organization to meet its goals. However, the study found that the level of satisfaction of employees differs from one group to another within an organization. Also effectiveness and efficiency of types of motivation applied was assessed of which 53% of respondents agreed that they are effective and 47% disagreed and proposed a total number of 10 new types of motivation to be adopted by the organization. The study, therefore, recommends the organization to be careful in responding and attending to matters related to employee's motivation since this seems to be the corner-stone for organization performance.
