dc.description This study seeks to examine the influence of work ethics on the performance of Executive Agencies in Tanzania, DUWASA in Dodoma Municipality being a case study. The review of literature covered both theoretical and empirical literature which demonstrated that the performance of many organizations has been impaired due to non-adherence to ethics in the course of their operations. Such ethical issues have bordered on factors such as the timely and positive effort in handling human problems at the executive level. This study adopted a descriptive research design. Both probability and non-probability sampling were employed that gave rise to 60 respondents for interviewing. Data were collected through questionnaire and interview as well as documentary review and were analyzed using SPSS, Excel and descriptive methods. The results revealed that there is deterioration of work ethics in Executive Agencies in Tanzania which impairs performance to realize the intended goals. The study identified measures to be taken to address the deteriorating work ethics in Executive Agencies in Tanzania to enhance performance. The measures should be geared towards to initiate regular on-job-training, improvement of remuneration, the establishment of good leadership system, fair treatment among the workers of the same rank and responsibilities and improved communication processes in the Executive Agencies. Such interventions would help to address the organizational deficiencies and provide the best way the executive agencies could deliver their respective mandates.
