dc.descriptionCorporal punishment is the most commonly used strategy to deal with students’ mis-behaviors across public schools and private school in Tanzania. This study examined status of discipline, academic performance and the use of corporal punishment to address students’ repugnant behaviors. The study was conducted in. Karagwe District selected primary schools and secondary schools. Researcher were gathered the information through interview, questionnaire and Observation. The researcher in that study found that the majority of the schoolchild were in the view that corporal punishment in school should be abolished due to the impact of that punishment like running away from school, bodily injury sometimes death, but on other hand some student still believing that corporal punishment helps to the maintaining discipline at school. All these are found in the opening chapter of the report. The researcher goes further to provide the meaning of important terminologies which enable those who will pass through this report to understand easily what the research is all about and this have been placed in the second chapter. the researcher has attempted to consult different laws including international instrument, Regional instrument, as well as domestic laws, cases which enabled the researcher to clarify that the problem is a legal problem and needs legal considerations as per chapter three concern. The researcher proved that data have been taken and tested to answer the hypothesis. After that critical analysis of the data the researcher found that many teachers are violating child right during administering corporal punishment. Generally, the researcher tried to provide his opinions on what should be done so as to alleviate this problem especially in government school.
