| dc.description | The objective of the study was to examine the influence of school leadership on organizational efficiency. The main specific objectives for the study included description of how school leaders are appointed, the relationship between school leaders and subordinates and the effect of school leaders on organisational efficiency. The research employed mixed method and descriptive design was used. Data was collect through questionnaire; interview and documentary review from 201 target population who included teachers, District Secondary Educational Officers (DSEO) and secondary school board members. The study used simple random and purposive sampling technique. Data collected was analyzed through Descriptive statistical SPSS program. The result revealed that most of the school leaders are not provided with prior knowledge before appointment and after appointment rare training and development are provided to them which are not enough to run their daily responsibility. Further more the result shows 95% of respondents do not know who appoint a school leader. It was limited by the problems of accessing the respondents, some of respondents in secondary school and DSEO office claimed that they were busy; this led to rearrangement of time. It recommended that there is significance of providing sufficiency training to the school leaders before and after appointment so as to enable them to manage the new tasks. | |
