dc.description | This study intended to examine “the influence of job satisfaction upon secondary school teachers’ organizational commitment in rural area”. The study used quantitative approach, specifically cross-section design to collect data from ten secondary schools in Muleba district. The population of the research consisted of 361 secondary teachers in Muleba district. The quota sampling was used to select a sample of 101 participants, using a table for sample size estimation. A self- completion questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection. To analyse the statistical data obtained, frequency and percentage, Pearson correlation was used. The findings revealed that, secondary school teachers in rural areas were satisfied with the efforts made by their schools heads to develop their professionals there was a positive teachers’ relationship with school management. Results also revealed that teachers are not satisfied with employment benefits particularly remuneration. Moreover, it revealed that, the level of teachers’ organizational commitment is average and findings showed that there is a positive relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The study recommended that, teachers needed to play their roles so as to improve academic performance at their schools. Schools managements and employer as a whole also, they should make sure that, teachers are satisfied so as to improve their organizational commitment to their schools towards organizational performance. | |
