dc.description | The general purpose of this study was to assess on the factors influencing effectiveness of Cold Medicines Supply Chain Performance in Tanzania: A Case of Medical Store Department (MSD), Head Office and Dar es Salaam. Specifically, the study aimed to; examine the influence of technology level on the effective supply chain of cold medicine, to find out the influence of distribution channel on the effective supply chain of cold medicine, to examine the influence of staff competence among the stakeholders on the effective supply chain of cold medicine and to determine the influence of storage capacity on the effective supply chain of cold medicine. The researcher used a descriptive research design with a quantitative and qualitative approach. The targeted population of this study was the employees of MSD whereby the researcher used a sample of 80 respondents. The researcher used questionnaires and interviews to collect data from respondents. The factor analysis was used to ensure the factorability of the data, and regression and correlation were used to establish the relationship between the independent variables and dependent variable, and descriptive analysis was used to describe the opinion of the respondents about the study. The finding revealed that there was a strong positive relationship between technology level and effective supply chain of cold medicine at P<0.05. Also, it was revealed that the distribution channel had a positive relationship on the effective supply chain of cold medicine at P<0.05, on other side staff competence was viewed to positively relate to the effective supply chain of cold medicine at P<0.05vand storage capacity had a positive relationship on the effective supply chain of cold medicine at P<0.05. The study concluded that technology level, distribution channel, staff competence, and storage capacity have a positive influence on the effective supply chain of cold medicine. The study recommended that MSD and government at large should ensure that they employ necessary technology and match with technological advancement speed by ensuring reliable distribution channels and well modern storage equipment. | |
