The study sought to assess the factors influencing supplier’s selection in public procuring entities in Tanzania. Specifically, the study aimed to examine the influence of procurement procedures on suppliers selection in public procurement entities; to assess the impact of staff competences on supplier selection in public procurement entities; to examine the impact of suppliers selection criteria’s on influencing supplier selections in public procurement entities and todetermine the challengesof supplier selection process and the impact on supplier’s selection in entities. The researcher deployed a case study research design and a cross sectional design. Data were gathered from 88 sample working Vice President’s Office Headquarter in Dodoma. Basically interviews, questionnaires and documentary review were deployed in data gathering. Collected data were analysed using SPSS software and descriptively analyzed and presented in table and percentage for clarification. In assessing the factors influencing supplier’s selection in public procuring entities the findings show that selection procedures, staff competence, impact of suppliers’ selection and challenges of supplier’s selection affect supplier’s selection in procuring entities in Tanzania.The study recommends that” public authorities dealing with the suppliers’ selection and procurement in the country should work alongside the PPA, PPRA and regulations to ensure that there are no malpractices and informed decision-making. Also supplier “selection should be an open and transparent process that can involve experts who are knowledgeable and have expertise to conduct the exercise professionally.
