The study attempts to review factors that influence departmental decision making in organizational performance, targeted Kamanga Ferry Limited –Mwanza Tanzania. The objective of the study was to investigate the factors influencing decision making process at Departmental levels for organization performance. Further, this study has also identified the role of management level in decision making process which may influence the departmental decision making processes. The researcher collected primary data through questionnaire, and observations. The data has been analysed in the form of percentages and descriptions based on the findings, also the data is presented in the form of figures and tables which enabled the researcher to make a logical and valid conclusions. A population studied includes all stakeholders who were needed on this research in order to make it more meaningful for the benefit of all professionals in management. That included Heads of departments, Accountants, captains, chief engineers and other employees; a sample of 101 respondents was drawn from the population by using census sampling technique. This research report is organized into series of five chapters; the first chapter describes the background of the problem, statement of the problem and objectives of the study. The Second chapter present the literature review on the general concept of decision making, Chapter three covers the methodology applied in this study, Chapter four presents the findings of the research a whereby chapter five presents the recommendations of the researcher on the topic under investigation.
