dc.descriptionThe Internet has a huge impact on access to health information. It can assist patients and health-care workers to retrieve evidence-based information and make informed decisions, and simplify health care service delivery. This article reviews the existing literature and focuses on the following areas: accessibility, quality, prospects, and efficacy of health information, and challenges of accessing health information on the Internet. In general, the Internet has proven to be a major source of health information to the public, and it is important for public health interventions to improve the quality of information and to promote its usage.
