This study aimed at exploring the problem of workplace harassment among women in organizations taking a look on five organization in Mwanza city. On pointing out the research problem, the researcher aimed at exploring on the factors that cause the existence of the problem, the forms in which the problem exist , the effects the problem brings on performance of women at the workplace and the intervening role of the rules and regulations regarding to the problem of workplace harassment among women. The study employed an exploratory research design that included a sample of 10 respondents whose data was collected through the use of interview method. In so doing the data gathered from the primary source through the use of interviews the data obtained was analyzed manually, tabulated and summarized relevant to the research questions. Data was used to examine whether or not workplace harassment among women really do exist, and the effects associated with the existence such problem. Discussion of findings revealed on the existence of workplace harassment on women as well as men in organizations pointing out the assumptions made on the conceptual framework as the underlying factors of the problem which included power abuse, unequal pay and negative attitude among coworkers. After the conclusion on the existence of the problem of work place harassment, the researcher made some recommendations regarding to the problem as per findings that were obtained from respondents. The study recommends that the approaches used to curb the problem should be reformed to fit cultural context of the people as some sets of behavior forming workplace harassment are not universal. Furthermore the need for formulation of policies to conform to the culture of Tanzania that will help in workplace harassment alleviation.
