This thesis aimed to study on Practice of electronic procurement in procurement in public organizations and Prime Minister’s office HQ as my case study.
The main objective was to analyse practice of electronic procurement in public organizations.
The specific objectives where to indentify if procurement legal frame work supports the practice of e- procurement, to investigate the organizations has set aside the budget to support practice of e-procurement, and lastly to indentify types of hardware and software available to support electronic procurement. Challenges, benefits and suggested solutions on electronic procurement have been indentified. Only two methods have been used in collecting data which are primary data and secondary data.
Electronic procurement benefits, challenges and solutions give clear pictures on how to deal with this electronic system in procurement. PMO can continue to reduce cost time management and less paper work to minimize the hindrances and challenges they face on its electronic procurement application.
Although electronic procurement have different challenges but has more benefit than manual system.
Since moving from manual to digitalization the organizations should fully understand the nature of technology in order to overcome electronic procurement applicability.
