The examined the practice of corporate governance towards organizational
performance in the insurance industry. The specific objectives were to describe
and assess the extent to which Jubilee Insurance Company Limited practice the
salient principles of Corporate Governance, to -identify and explain the effects
of corporate governance at Jubilee Insurance Company Limited and to examine
the means to raise organizational performance in Jubilee Insurance Company.
The study employed a case study research design. The data were collected
using questionnaires, interview and document analysis techniques. Data
obtained from the fields were analyzed and presented graphically and in
frequency distribution table with the help of SPSS version 16.00. The study
findings conclude that, Jubilee Insurance Company Limited practice the salient
principles of Corporate Governance to a large extent and this was witnessed by
having strong Board of Directors, duly committed of its role in safeguarding
shareholders’ assets and ensuring a suitable return on investment.
The conclusion made on the effects of corporate governance at Jubilee
Insurance Company Limited was that increased profitability for the last two
years was one among the effect of corporate governance at Jubilee Insurance
Company Limited and high dividends returns was associated with the effects of
corporate governance also better risk management to promote efficiency was
among the effect of corporate. In response to the means to raise organizational
performance in Jubilee Insurance Company, the conclusion drawn was that one
means to raise organizational performance in Jubilee Insurance Company is
through the use of motivation to employees.
In response to the relationship between corporate governance and
organizational performance in Jubilee Insurance Company Limited. The study
found that the result is statistically significant. This means that there was a
relationship between corporate governance and organizational performance in
Jubilee Insurance Company Limited. |
