The purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness on the use of Information
Technology and Employee Performance in fingerprint unit, Tanzania police force, three
research questions was formed to meet the objective which are; what is the employee
capacity on using IT facilities, what is the relationship between IT adaption and employee
performance? And what is the relationship between IT adaption and employee innovation?
To answer those three research questions the researcher used interview and questionnaire to
23 respondents who were employees from forensic unit and 20 employees from
Information technology both from Tanzania police force who made a total of 43
respondents.
The study found out that the performance before the IT adoption was low; with all the
works needed to be done using hands by writing, communicating and measuring.
The study concludes that there is good employee capacity on using IT facilities, there is
relationship between employee adoption and employee performance and there is
relationship between IT adoption and employee innovation.
The study recommends that Government should provide enough funds needed by its
organizations in order to fulfill their IT requirements and policy makers should formulate
laws and orders that will create favorable environment that require government institution
to use IT facilities in order to increase employee’s performance through clear formulated
policies that will increase creativity and innovation. |
