This study Assessed of the Roles of Human Resource Planning Towards
Organizational Performance in Public Constitutions - a Case study of National
Institute of Transport (NIT), the main objective of this study was to examine the
nature, challenges and strategies of human planning on organizational performance.
The Specific Objectives of the study are to examine the challenges of human
resource planning, to establish the relationship between human resource planning and
organizational performance, to recommend strategies to improve human resource
planning, to assess the nature of human resource planning.
The Data collection methods comprised questionnaire, interview and documentary
review. Statistical package for social sciences was employed in data analysis. A
descriptive cross-sectional study was used. A sample of 160 respondents was used.
Simple random sampling was used to select respondents from each Department. The
sample was obtained from Human resource officers, Commercial Officers as well as
the Marketing officers.
In general the findings revealed that analyzing Human Resource Planning with
regard to its nature, challenges and strategies to improve planning. Human Resource
Planning if well planned can enable the institution to have quality Human Resources
at the right time doing the right activity in the right place. Though with challenges in
forecasting without certainty, contingency plans to overcome any unexpected
occurrences have to be drawn.
On these grounds it is recommend that in planning for Human Resources different
employee needs should be put into consideration, this is because different individuals
have differing needs. This is line with making transfers, restructuring, rotations and
other forms of adjustments.
