The study assessed time management in improving organizational performance in
bank industry in Tanzania, a case of Tanzania Postal Bank, Dar es Salaam. The
specific objectives of the study were in three folds: Firstly was to find out the
awareness of effective time management among employees, secondly was
effectiveness utilization time management in service delivery, thirdly to know if time
management can ensure timely completion of assigned duties and fourthly was to
describe challenges facing bank industry in implementing time management.
Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews and observations.
Generally, the findings revealed that time management had a great role to play in
organizational performance at Tanzania Postal Bank. It was found that time
management was not fully implemented and some of them do not understand the
value of time.
The study recommends every individual must see time as a company concern and not
a personal issue; it has increasingly become an organizational issue whose root
causes are deeply embedded in corporate performance and cultures
