This study aiming at assessing the factors that affects employee performance in the
education sector. Purposively the study selected Pugu Secondary School, one of the
longest government schools and its experience will be more useful to the findings of
the study.
The study both use qualitative and quantitative approach. The data were collected
through interviews, observation and questionnaires and analyzed using the aid of
SPSS version 11. The study found that lack of funds affects greatly affected
assessment of employee performance in education sector. The findings also revealed
that poor reward and recognition was the critical factor that reduces the atmosphere
of cooperation during of assessment. It was also found that failure to adhere
organization mission and vision has great impact to the implementation of
assessment process that has to be done. Nevertheless, the findings found that there
were no comprehensive plans made by the institution to improve the assessment of
the employee performance
From these findings, it was recommended that government as well as the ministry of
education to adhere to the mission and vision which will direct what is needed to be
done. The study also recommends that funds must be given to facilitate an enabling
the process of employee performance to be done accordingly. |
